Termina Fantasia: An Analog Turn Based Strategy RPG
A downloadable game
Termina Fantasia is a tabletop roleplaying game inspired by the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Jagged Alliance, Commandos, or Metal Gear Acid. The game will feature core mechanics focused around grid based combat, map exploration and logistics, faction interaction, and narrative rules for creating dramatic tension and experiencing a character's arc of growth or difficulties in a fantasy world on the brink of ruin.
It is in a work of flux. Its rules right now are as much references and notes on construction for my own work as they are final products. They shall change and flow as things come together and in the final product many of these words will be absent, streamlined, and made clearer for the approach of a player to understand than for easier manners for reference to my creation.
As it stands the game is intended to be customizable and many of these features will be moved to a section for customization and creation to be included in the Gamemaster section.
It will eventually include sections for the Tactical Combat focused Objective Play, the exploration and logistics focused Expedition Play, and the story and drama focus Narrative Play. In much the same manner as exploring the map in a turn based strategy and having both combat and cutscenes, the game is intended to be a fusion of all three.
The fates array a world of intrigue and strife before you. Amass your combatants, ally with those factions you give your loyalty to, and fight for a future. Termina Fantasia will present for you an example setting including the factions and potential dramatis personae to ally with or rally against. A world of magic and magitek will lie before you and in it you will seek to shape a better fate for your characters and for others, though so often this may come at a cost. For yourself, for your friends, for your foes.
